"Professional and super skilled"
Thomas Maaløe
Lars is top professional and super skilled. I have now received help twice, a few years apart. Both times I have had a few muscles reactivated and almost magically the pain disappeared and my cycling strength returned.

Acute sports injuries
Acute sports injuries occur suddenly while you are playing sports or exercising. It can be a sprained ankle or a twisted knee or injuries that occur as a result of a tackle or a crash on the bike. There can also be fiber tears in, for example, the calf, thigh or hamstring. Muscle injuries typically occur in connection with sudden, rapid movements and feel like a snap in the muscle. For acute sports injuries, you should always start by treating them according to the RICE principle. After that, it is important that you see a physiotherapist who specializes in sports physiotherapy. It is essential to get the correct diagnosis quickly so that you can start your rehabilitation immediately.
Sports injuries due to overuse
Overuse injuries are injuries that develop over time and where the pain gradually becomes greater and greater. The cause of overuse injuries is typically due to weakness in one or more muscles. If the primary muscle is weak, the next best muscle will try to compensate, which will cause it to become overloaded over time. Overuse injuries can also be caused by reduced mobility in one or more joints. This changes the body's biomechanics, which is why muscles, tendons and connective tissues can become overloaded. It is important to identify the cause of the problem if the injury is to be treated effectively. Classic sports injuries due to overload could be, for example, jumper's knee and shoulder pain.
Chronic sports injuries
Some sports injuries can become long-term and chronic if they are not diagnosed and treated correctly. The reason for this is mostly because the underlying cause of the injury has not been identified, which means that the injury is treated incorrectly. It can also be because you have not received any treatment, which is why the injury just gets worse and worse. It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to get a thorough examination by one of our physiotherapists who specializes in sports injuries. This way, you will reach your goal much faster, as the treatment can be targeted to your problem. Typical injuries that become chronic could be, for example, heel spurs or tennis elbow. However, these injuries can be treated with the right treatment.
"Too good to be true."
Mikkel Østergaard
I have been struggling with sports injuries for 10 years with no improvement from other treatments - at a point where I almost gave up. I found Lars and it almost sounded too good to be true. After 5 treatments the pain is gone!

Running injuries
Running injuries are some of the most common sports injuries we see at the clinic. These can include runner's knee, shin splints or Achilles tendon pain. Running injuries are most often caused by weakness in one or more muscles (e.g. the gluteus maximus) or reduced mobility in the hip or ankle.
Running injuries can also be the result of too rapid progression in training. This means that you have either run too far or too fast before you were actually ready for it. As a rule of thumb, you should not increase your distance or speed by more than 10% per week. If you exceed this, the risk of running injuries increases drastically.
Football injuries
We have particularly extensive experience in treating football injuries. Our physiotherapist, Lars Røpke Nielsen (right in the picture) has previously been a physiotherapist for FC Copenhagen and FC Nordsjælland. He is currently a physiotherapist for the DBU and continues to treat several Superliga players. Therefore, you can book an appointment with him if you have sustained a football injury. The most common football injuries are torn hamstrings, sprained ankles and groin pain. In young football players up to the age of 11, we also treat many Schlatter knees. This is an overuse injury that occurs during the growing up years. With our approach to treatment, we can often relieve and treat this pain.
Other sports injuries
There are of course many other types of sports injuries than those we have written about above. These can be sports injuries related to racket sports, handball, swimming, dance and gymnastics as well as general fitness and strength training. We see all types of sports injuries at the clinic, so you are in good hands no matter what injury you have sustained.
When you regularly do sports and exercise, it is almost inevitable that you will run into an injury at some point. The best thing you can do is to visit our sports physiotherapists, who can diagnose and treat the injury quickly and safely. That way, you will be back to normal quickly.
Treatment of sports injuries
Sports physiotherapy is incredibly effective in treating sports injuries if done correctly. We pride ourselves on finding and treating the underlying cause of the sports injury. If you want to be successful with the treatment, you must not only focus on the injury itself, but also treat the surrounding muscles and joints. For example, a hamstring injury can be caused by a weak gluteal muscle. If you only focus on rehabilitating the hamstring, you will never fully achieve your goal, as the hamstring will continue to compensate for the weak gluteal muscle. The hamstring muscle is not "designed" to be able to cope, which is why the injury will keep breaking up again. This compensation strategy applies to almost all sports injuries, which is why it is important to identify the underlying cause.
