About Adam

Adam Thagesen is a physiotherapist and graduate student with special skills in overuse injuries, running injuries, neuro activation and complex pain problems. He works from a mantra where the goal is to give each patient an understandable explanation, a clear plan and a sense of real progress.

Adam has extensive experience with pain and injuries throughout the musculoskeletal system. In addition to the classic overuse disorders, he works a lot with patients who have more complex or long-term pain, where the body reacts in a way that cannot be explained by one structure alone. This can be back or neck pain, headaches, shoulder problems, nerve-related pain, jaw problems or diffuse pain that returns again and again. Adam is used to helping patients where nervousness about movement, changed activation patterns or a body in a protective strategy play a major role. Here, his approach is about creating calm, overview and direction – and helping the patient regain confidence in their body.

Adam combines couch treatment and exercise in a way that creates both rapid and lasting changes. The couch is actively used to relieve pain, change muscle activation and calm the nervous system so that the body can move better. When the pain has been positively affected on the couch, advice and guidance for relevant exercise are given further and reinforce the effect. In this way, the couch and exercise become two tools that work together to create momentum in the process.
